Formation of the Alliance of Kings
    Founding

A sense of unity between the Baronies of Everflame and the Dwarven North that had existed since the fall of the Ironheart Empire was made official with the declaration of the Alliance of Kings in 1282 ANG. Despite the fact that only one of the three nations in the pact was ruled by a king, Gildmire insisted upon the name, stating that it was the only title that properly expressed the respect its people felt for Everflame's Head Baron and Duerga's Chancellor.

The Orcish Nomads Declare Dar'Hesh with Gildmire
    Diplomatic action

Through clever political manoeuvring, Litherian diplomats convinced High Chief Rakton of the Orcish Nomads that an accidental skirmish with Ironheart troops had in fact been a deliberate false flag operation by Gildmire, designed to cripple their capacity to harass supply caravans. As a result, the Five Clans gathered to declare Dar'Hesh ('War of Vengeance') with Gildmire, placing them on the side of Litheria for the duration of the war.

The Southern Elves declare war on the Alliance of Kings
    Diplomatic action

Disturbed by the implications of the war on the natural order, the Southern Elven Tribes called a Gathering of clan leaders to discuss their response. It was ultimately decided that, since the Baronies of Everflame had been the aggressor, the best way to bring the war to a swift end and prevent anything like it from occurring again would be to join with Litheria and the Ironhearts. They failed, however, to anticipate the shift in power that was to come...

    Ironheart Winter of Discontent
    Political event

After a poor harvest and the drafting of miners to fight in the First Arcane War, the Ironheart Empire found itself unable to produce or purchase sufficient food for the winter. This led to several months of political strife, emboldening the kingdom's enemies and leading, indirectly, to Operation Gemstone. Eventually, the crisis was resolved by a joint relief effort from Litheria and the Southern Elves, not wishing to lose an ally to civil war.

But with enemies on all sides, the clan leaders were forced to determine that fate had other plans for the end of the war - and to continue on their current path was to fight against all they stood for. Channelling the power of Mechanus through a ritual still poorly understood to this day, a group of Gnomish artificers erected an enormous keep in the former territory of the Litherian Empire, which they dubbed Bentrelhold, and claimed the land around it. Stretching a mile into the air and a mile below ground, the city (if it can be described as such) remains the single greatest feat of engineering in Tilendrel's history.

    The Intervention
    Military action

Also known as 'The Coup de Grâce' in Litheria, or simply 'The Litherian Occupation', The Intervention was a joint military operation by the Baronies of Everflame and Southern Elves intended to bring an end to the bloody Litherian Civil War. It ended with Krin'garr and Bentrelhold being recognised as legitimate nations, and the rest of the former Litherian territory being split between the occupying powers. Everflame initially attempted to grant a measure of independence, briefly forming the Eighth Barony of Lithe, but was forced to dissolve the local government and declare martial law when fighting threatened to break out again.
