Forge's Eye (Mountain)

Forge's Eye, not to be confused with the Barony of Forge's Eye, is a dormant volcano located within the city of Mettleven after which the Barony is named. Originally used as a forge itself, a large city quickly grew around it, attracting world-renowned smiths and transforming the Barony into what it is today. While dormant, the volcano is still occasionally used by Tilendrel's best smiths to forge some of the most powerful magical items in history.
Origins
Due to its inexplicable affinity for creating items of immense power, the volcano is widely suspected of connections to the arcane or divine. Various rumours have spread throughout Tilendrel, attributing its power to, among other things, the Old Gods, the New Gods, Arden Sunbringer, legendary mages, and even the lich Nhyzal. Followers of the New Everian Church, a cult-like religion that sees Arden Sunbringer as a god, name Forge's Eye as one of the Seven Gifts given to Everflame by Sunbringer. Certain arcanists believe that the volcano's power comes from its use in creating magical items, each item leaving a residue of magic that grew over time.
