Temple of Nanahameh

It had turned out Asheerah had gone over to the temple with her sister by the time we had come back and she was not to be back until tomorrow evening.

Purpose / Function

The Temple of Nanahameh (Nanami) has been under wide spread controversy over the years due to its complicated history. The temple was erected in order by Queen Roksahn, King Shemar's 2nd wife. The temple is said to contain the statue of Laiwah , the Goddess of motherhood and birth. It has been underfire several times by the Lamentari under religous concerns, they argue you cannot change your circumstances, if the gods have willed, the gods have willed it. They regard praying to the gods in this type of manner a huge sin and is actually questioning the gods doing. Therefore female worshippers who visit the temple are under the watchful eye of a Lamentari guard. Now, the temple is visited often to celebrate the end of the Sirjaan (spring) festival.

Alterations

Nanami underwent several renovations through time and though you may regard this to be because of the Lamentari rule, the reasons behind the alterations are quite unknown to us even to this day. Nanami has been assosicated with many different beliefs since it plays such a key role on an Azaadi females daily life, married or otherwise. Many tribes had got a hold of the temple keys so it is only understandable how they would adujst the temple and the statue to fit ones taste.

Architecture

The temple is said to follow Achaemenid Architecture when compared to in our world. It is mostly made by stones on all sides. Nanami is built on 4 pillars which support a large dome above which acts as a cieling and upon walking up the steps you will find the statue Hamdahm.

History

There has been many stories to the temple of Nanahmeh, though you can count most of these to myths and legends which I will delve further into later when I manage to document mythology and lore. What I will explain to you are mere facts.
You see the temple was as mentioned before built by Queen Roksahn due to her complications on bearing a child. She had been a queen driven out by traitors within the kings ward and close friendship circle. Her diary entry records she had carved a small stone in honour of her goddess for a plea. No woman shall ever have to carry the burden of infertility.
There has been many tales what went on after this but what happened to her after that entry could never be proven.
