I awoke to discover myself in another world, a world devoid of life. The spirit of life faded before my eyes, dripping as my now vengeful soul consumed me with hatred. I felt the gushing wind sting as it blew its ghastly freezing breath onto my burning face. I open my eyes and inhaled, but I’m trapped in a vacuum. Worrying about the lack of oxygen invaded my thoughts causing me to suck in the air. My lungs scorched in the process as my heart burned with an anger which now possessed me. Fog hovered over my eyes blurring my vision as I could barely make out my surroundings. Tall black lofty blocks encompassed me like giants spanning the whole horizon dawning above. My heart pounds against my ribs increasing in beats every second, I hated it.

Giovanni is right-handed, though he does use his left hand occasionally when involved in manual labour.

Sun element: This makes Giovanni control light from his will but also have the power to control fire, lava and heat which can be used for healing though this is not as powerful as Ehsaan's.
Giovanni can also move lightning fast, this is a gift given to him by his light ability, however his speed is not as fast as Ezra's.

Giovanni was lucky enough to be in school unlike a lot of the other families who live in the outskirts, in fact the literacy rates in the outskirts are just below 30%! Giovanni graduated in high school with average grades (he had barely studied despite the nagging of his parents and Ezra) and was actually looking for employment before the hunt for Ehsaan.
Employment
Asheerah had first employed Giovanni almost immediately and was considered a bakery favourite by Asheerah herself and the customers. He is known for being the friendliest employee the bakery ever had and this is why he was paid quite a lot compared to the likes of Ezra or Ehsaan. Though as time went on his reputation went on a downward spiral and his time at the bakery ended pretty quickly.
Accomplishments & Achievements
Giovanni has been average in almost everything he is good at and due to his close knit community in his village he has hardly ever been in a competition or competed in a contest. For this reason he does not think that he has many achievements or accomplishments. But a few key moments do stick out to him, the times where he felt very content with himself.
The making of his first full scale den with Ezra. They had built the only den to exist in the village.
Learning to ballroom dance with Veera, it was a new hobby he had picked up and was amazed to see how elegantly his footwork had been in just a few days.
Making up with Ehsaan, Giovanni felt proud to wholeheartedly believe in what he truly believed despite everyone else he knew had displayed their disappointment.
Making up with Ezra, he felt the weight on his shoulders drop massively as the anger and the miscommunications had died down.
Failures & Embarrassments
His failure to not protect his parents will always be one of his biggest failures, his father had warned him of a time if he were to lose him, one of the first promises he made was to look after his mother but Giovanni eventually could not. He feels that he could've done something, even if it were something little but the embarrassment will always hit him because he chose to do nothing during his parents death.
Giovanni had also broken a promise with Ehsaan, a promise which was meant to keep close ties with her but Giovanni had not. Instead he did the exact opposite and barely talked to her at all. Although he did not mean too, he feels extremely guilty, it was because of him Ehsaan had endured so much under Asheerah. He also feels responsible for Ehsaan's loss of her bearer abilities. It is one thing losing your own but losing someone else's not to mention without their permission is something despicable, it wasn't right, even if Ehsaan had returned her love for him, he shouldn't of kept it away from her. Giovanni in the end felt his desires for her had been heightened by the horrible situation they had been in. He has a deep guilt but nevertheless would not change anything about that day if he was given the chance too, he had loved it.

Giovanni had grown up in a world where life was full of trauma. Having grown up in the forgotten outskirts of Lament Giovanni had in part tried his best to live a happy and fulfilling life. His parents have sheltered Giovanni away from the worst parts of Lamentari rule but he was not naive enough to completely be ignorant about it. He had watched his mother and father starve when rations and income were low and have wittnessed the beggars on the streets said to be only 'sleeping'. His innocence was hugely lost very early on.
The death of his parents had the biggest blow, a cheery Giovanni was now pessimistic and doubtful about whether his ability were even real or not. The loss of ones parent at any age is enough, not losing one but two and as a teenager? Indescribable. He had to face manhood alone and perhaps this was a reason of why he was so internally frustrated.
This became worse when he was isolated by his two best friends, Ezra and Ehsaan. If it not were for Veera he would possibly be nothing but a vessel for his empty soul.

Giovanni has an inborn sensitivity and an awareness of life. At a very young age Giovanni was able to understand hardships his father and mother faced during their life in the village and thus always tried to answer difficult questions which had largely been shaped by his childhood. Some questions may even be considered as taboo and if he were to reveal it to the general public they would only frown at his thought. For example, Sex outside marriage and prostitution.

Giovanni's view on morality is a quick and easy one. 'Treat others how you would like to be treated'.

Giovanni despises taboos. He believes that taboos are only made by the society in which they live and therefore it is all relative to where you live. This is pointless since taboos in one culture can be deemed normal in another culture. Giovanni believes that humans are one species and therefore right and wrong should be for all if that were the case. He does not believe anything should be kept a taboo, especially when the matter is important for mental or physical health. He hated Asheerah for her love of societal structures and taboos since it gave her an excuse to nit pick everything wrong that he or Ehsaan had done and hated Asheerah even more when she had separated him from Ehsaan for her bizzare and false rumour of incest . Giovanni desires above all to fufill the prophecy and obtain retribution for his parents and all the other bearers who have fallen under the hands of the Lamentari.

Giovanni has a natural gift using his sun element. His bearer skills are like no other, even master bearers were not known to have exhausted such power in such a long amount of time in the way Giovanni did for better or for worse.
Giovanni has an instinctive ability to read people. Since he is very observant he can easily tell if a person is upset or hurt. Giovanni has a high emotional intelligence, higher than most people in the valley of Lament or in Azaad. a rare trait which Ehsaan and Veera admire most about him.
Giovanni did not feel the need to learn how to swim since he had never thought about leaving his village. He regrets this a lot now more than ever since the Meredith attack and the potential loss of Ezra and Ehsaan. Never would he have thought he would have to flee from his home in the way that he did.
Likes & Dislikes
Likes: Giovanni is in love and has always been in love with his sun element. He would break his father's strict rules and hide under his bed covers practicing his element every night without thinking of the dire consequences it may of had. It was his addiction for quite a long time. In fact, Giovanni loves to create personalised night lights and lamps using this ability.
He and Ezra have loved making dens outside their village home. In rain or shine, the two would be out chasing each other to see who could grab the largest and most longest log they could find. Dens provided a safe house and a hidden secrecy which gave a buzzing feeling as kids whenever they had felt they did not want to go home just yet. He was a pro at den building however his skills have now been rusty after years of abstaining. Giovanni was thrilled when he got to build one again, especially this time with Ehsaan.

Giovanni is an optimist,he rarely ever prejudges someone who may look strange to him and makes it his goal to discover and befriend newcomers. He feels that there is a different story in everyone and that story should most definitely be told. This coupled with his cheeky flare makes him a very likable character and this is why he has created such a close bond with Ezra and Ehsaan. It is such a shame that Giovanni has rarely been like this ever since the rebellion.

Giovanni is an excellent speaker, however he is a natural improviser since he is a very impractical person and is useless at sticking to a plan. You cannot have Giovanni to plan your birthday party, or anyone's party for that matter, he is a very indecisive character and will take hours to make a decision.

Personality Quirks
Since Giovanni is one of the last three bearers, his element has taken a predominant role over his internal body. Unlike most of us during winters, Giovanni does not at all freeze or shiver in cold frosty breezes. His element provides him an excess amount of heat and therefore he rarely ever feels cold. In fact, he is quite warm in winters, and even warmer in summers.
Hygiene
Giovanni is very well known to be a slightly untidy person. Just from his appearance you can presume he is not very well kept. However this does not mean that he is unclean, quite the contrary, Giovanni is just as hygienically clean as one of the tidiest people in Azaad, i.e Veera. Despite Giovanni's messy behaviours, he has never misplaced a single item in years.

Relation to Mother(Sophia Mehir): Giovanni has been particularly close to his mother, she had been the predominant female in his family for most of his life until her untimely death. He had always spent time with her growing up more so than his father voluntarily as he finds his mother gentler and easier to talk too and perhaps this is where has learnt his empathetic nature. He remembers her stories and often funny conversations with Sophia and loves to ponder on with these fond memories since it comforts him especially during the early days of losing his family. Giovanni feels that Sophia had begun to act more like his father when meeting Ehsaan and this annoyed him quite a bit, he had always wondered whether she knew about the circumstances she and his father had put themselves through. He hopes to find solace and rejoin his family in the next life.
Relation to Father(Kamil): Giovanni thoroughly enjoys fishing with his father despite not being very good, he became very glad about the fact that he had acknowledged him. Giovanni deeply respects his father, he knows that it is not easy to have three mouths to feed whilst living in a rural village but his father manages and pulls it off with a strong and brave face. He had often overheard conversations between his father and mother and even arguments when struggling to cope but admires how his father has never lost affection for his mother, despite showing little to him. At the age of eleven Giovanni was pulled aside from the living room one morning by his father, there he held him by his shoulders, almost pleading to forever protect his mother if something horrible were to ever happen. Giovanni still lives with the regret of not being able to fulfill this plea as they both gave their lives to protect his own.

Relation with Veera: Veera is always been a fun character to hang around with, in fact for a while Giovanni had indeed fell in love with her for a brief moment. Her positive outlook allowed him to finally raise his spirits after he had been through so much, for that, Giovanni will forever be grateful. Veera reminds him of his old self, an upbeat and optimistic being and thus clung on to her when he had been feeling so low since his mother and father's passing. Veera had allowed Giovanni to forget about his troubles and experience life again, in this time he even was willing enough to try out new hobbies like ballroom dancing which Veera had personally introduced him too. Veera always has seemed wise for her character and gave Giovanni advice frequently but unlike Ezra's she had taken account of his feelings and he had appreciated that, how she was willing to converse with him over matters which had been considered petty to Ezra. Giovanni had never met anyone else quite like her, she was talkative unlike Ehsaan but also had a kind and generous soul, even more so since she is a Lamentari. Giovanni has only ever increased his respect and admiration for Veera, he knows that how difficult it is for her as a Lamentari to join their cause and befriend them but she chose to anyway despite the consequences, she was willing to sacrifice everything she had for their friendship. He now largely considers his old feelings more of an infatuation rather than a romance but still continues on loving Veera as a close and best friend. He is saddened by the fact that society too has separated his friendship with her too especially after the rebellion but the two have promised to meet up in secret as they both have lost their two dear friends.
Relation with Asheerah: Giovanni's first thought of Asheerah had been that she was a little too nice for her to be genuine, this is why he was so reluctant to staying in her home in exchange for work as it felt like a trap which would lead them to be treated poorly and more or less like slaves. As time went by however Giovanni slowly grew into the idea of becoming a waiter, in fact Asheerah had picked him out to be her favourite when comparing to the other two, Ehsaan and Ezra as she thought he was a harder worker than they were. Giovanni felt like this was a little restricting on him and only an excuse so that he would be loaded with more work and so began decreasing his work standards as time went by, not to mention his mental health had clearly not been great and despite Asheerah noticing this, she pushed him on harder. Giovanni began cutting time off work and chose to be with Veera instead during this time. He wanted to quit multiple times but the consequences of being homeless had been lingering inside him and so he never did. He absolutely loathed Asheerah for abusing Ehsaan and how she deliberately kept her isolated for the sake of her reputation. It reached a tipping point when he overheard Asheerah manipulating Veera's words and toying with Ehsaan while he was recovering from his illness, if it not for his own survival he would've burnt her at the stake. It had been her fault Ehsaan was made to suffer in the prisons and to suffer in silence in her home and he will never forget that. Relation with Heydar: He is a tough and stoic man with little to say. Giovanni knew that he was never wanted in his home right from the very beginning since Heydar so adamantly protested against Asheerah's wishes to let them stay. Giovanni thinks he is quite lazy compared to Asheerah, it is his business also but he does very little of the manual labour. Perhaps it's his poor Lamentari or Giovanni's poor Azaadi that creates a barrier between them but he does think he is a mysterious character. The redeeming quality he made was when he had tasted and openly had insisted that Ehsaan's baking was great unlike Asheerah who had made a fuss. From there Heydar had been much more lenient and overall better to be around than his wife although he did still come across as quite scary but to Giovanni scary is better than annoying. The pure amazement on Giovanni's face when Heydar had appeared behind the bushes with Ezra beside him was astonishing. Never in his mind would he have guessed, he would be a brave and prideful man. Though the two did not say much to each other, Giovanni cannot help but be grateful for his sacrifice.
Relation with Omid She is just like a younger, quieter version of him. Giovanni loves her imaginative outlook on life despite being rather isolated from the rest of the children her age. She is well mannered and very understanding about difficult situations for her age. Giovanni loves to find comfort in her as he knows that children are innocent and therefore explain things without any complications. He feels sorry for her and himself since he could not say a single goodbye. Relation with Feris Mithra: Giovanni's hatred has no bounds for him...and that's all there is to say.
Relation with Primus: Personally Primus is an arrogant and ruthless #&$%! which deserved what was coming to him. Giovanni is at odd with most Lamentari. Primus, he believes is just like the rest of them. Heartless and cruel. Giovanni was secretly ecstatic that Ehsaan had enacted on vengeance though he knew it was the worst decision any could have made.

Relation with Veera: Veera is always been a fun character to hang around with, in fact for a while Giovanni had indeed fell in love with her for a brief moment. Her positive outlook allowed him to finally raise his spirits after he had been through so much, for that, Giovanni will forever be grateful. Veera reminds him of his old self, an upbeat and optimistic being and thus clung on to her when he had been feeling so low since his mother and father's passing. Veera had allowed Giovanni to forget about his troubles and experience life again, in this time he even was willing enough to try out new hobbies like ballroom dancing which Veera had personally introduced him too. Veera always has seemed wise for her character and gave Giovanni advice frequently but unlike Ezra's she had taken account of his feelings and he had appreciated that, how she was willing to converse with him over matters which had been considered petty to Ezra. Giovanni had never met anyone else quite like her, she was talkative unlike Ehsaan but also had a kind and generous soul, even more so since she is a Lamentari. Giovanni has only ever increased his respect and admiration for Veera, he knows that how difficult it is for her as a Lamentari to join their cause and befriend them but she chose to anyway despite the consequences, she was willing to sacrifice everything she had for their friendship. He now largely considers his old feelings more of an infatuation rather than a romance but still continues on loving Veera as a close and best friend. He is saddened by the fact that society too has separated his friendship with her too especially after the rebellion but the two have promised to meet up in secret as they both have lost their two dear friends.
Relation with Asheerah: Giovanni's first thought of Asheerah had been that she was a little too nice for her to be genuine, this is why he was so reluctant to staying in her home in exchange for work as it felt like a trap which would lead them to be treated poorly and more or less like slaves. As time went by however Giovanni slowly grew into the idea of becoming a waiter, in fact Asheerah had picked him out to be her favourite when comparing to the other two, Ehsaan and Ezra as she thought he was a harder worker than they were. Giovanni felt like this was a little restricting on him and only an excuse so that he would be loaded with more work and so began decreasing his work standards as time went by, not to mention his mental health had clearly not been great and despite Asheerah noticing this, she pushed him on harder. Giovanni began cutting time off work and chose to be with Veera instead during this time. He wanted to quit multiple times but the consequences of being homeless had been lingering inside him and so he never did. He absolutely loathed Asheerah for abusing Ehsaan and how she deliberately kept her isolated for the sake of her reputation. It reached a tipping point when he overheard Asheerah manipulating Veera's words and toying with Ehsaan while he was recovering from his illness, if it not for his own survival he would've burnt her at the stake. It had been her fault Ehsaan was made to suffer in the prisons and to suffer in silence in her home and he will never forget that. Relation with Heydar: He is a tough and stoic man with little to say. Giovanni knew that he was never wanted in his home right from the very beginning since Heydar so adamantly protested against Asheerah's wishes to let them stay. Giovanni thinks he is quite lazy compared to Asheerah, it is his business also but he does very little of the manual labour. Perhaps it's his poor Lamentari or Giovanni's poor Azaadi that creates a barrier between them but he does think he is a mysterious character. The redeeming quality he made was when he had tasted and openly had insisted that Ehsaan's baking was great unlike Asheerah who had made a fuss. From there Heydar had been much more lenient and overall better to be around than his wife although he did still come across as quite scary but to Giovanni scary is better than annoying. The pure amazement on Giovanni's face when Heydar had appeared behind the bushes with Ezra beside him was astonishing. Never in his mind would he have guessed, he would be a brave and prideful man. Though the two did not say much to each other, Giovanni cannot help but be grateful for his sacrifice.
Relation with Omid She is just like a younger, quieter version of him. Giovanni loves her imaginative outlook on life despite being rather isolated from the rest of the children her age. She is well mannered and very understanding about difficult situations for her age. Giovanni loves to find comfort in her as he knows that children are innocent and therefore explain things without any complications. He feels sorry for her and himself since he could not say a single goodbye. Relation with Feris Mithra: Giovanni's hatred has no bounds for him...and that's all there is to say.
Relation with Primus: Personally Primus is an arrogant and ruthless #&$%! which deserved what was coming to him. Giovanni is at odd with most Lamentari. Primus, he believes is just like the rest of them. Heartless and cruel. Giovanni was secretly ecstatic that Ehsaan had enacted on vengeance though he knew it was the worst decision any could have made.
Family Ties
Born in an estranged family, Giovanni does not have any familial ties as he barely knows his own family history from both his mother's and father's side.
Religious Views
Giovanni holds tight to his belief in monotheism, though he does not follow a prescribed organised religion. He does not like being pinned down into a box which he believes organised religions tends to do with its rules and regulations set for every human being. Giovanni believes that human beings are different and thus may need different rules. Organised religion goes against this by its very meaning and so it is not for him. He feels that society as well as religion cause human beings to be slaves to these rules. Giovanni believes that you should treat human beings the way you yourself would want to be treated, which includes communal care as well as self care. Giovanni was surprised and saddened when Ehsaan had mentioned marriage,How can a piece of paper or a clergy men who cares very little for you can be a barrier to something so natural as love?
Social Aptitude
In normal circumstances Giovanni has been the most optimistic compared with Ehsaan and Ezra, he is a natural extrovert and hates spending time alone. This is because he is normally very talkative whether he is in a good or bad mood, he finds it therapeutic to express his feelings towards others, in fact he feels the need to and this may be why he had become so frustrated cutting ties with Ehsaan.
People will often depict Giovanni as a totally innocent and childish boy however he is in many ways quite the opposite depending on the situation he is in. In very heightened situations he may come across as very bitter or romantic.
Mannerisms
Fun fact: Giovanni brushes his hair to the front of his face when nervous or at the rare occasion a little shy, this is so that he can hide his blushing.
Hobbies & Pets
Giovanni does not have any pets due to the fact that if he were to have any, they'd have to be wild pets which would cause all sorts of chaos in their village home. He does however have a passion for animals as a whole, his grandmother would share bedtime stories of when she was working with the Lamentari far away. Her adventures includes lots of creatures and beasts and was always a joy to listen too.

Speech
Giovanni has a childish, almost flirtatious flare to his speech whilst in normal conversation, a soft mellow voice when sad or hurt and a short-snappy voice when angered or threatened. He does occasionally use the often swear word here or there, though only if provoked or annoyed and uses them less often whenever Veera is around. Giovanni's Lamentari dialect is the typical working class dialect only found in the outer provinces of Lament.
Wealth & Financial state
Growing up Giovanni and his family made due with whatever they had, growing up near a forest had its difficulties as while still a very young boy Giovanni was given the rough task of scavenging for food, this includes fishing, hunting and the sort. He was very much aware of how much of an issue money was and therefore did not ask for very much in terms of material things. He and his family lived a very humble life and were considered the upper working class in comparison to the unfortunate poverty ridden village he grew up in. Compared to the rest of Tierterrum he is in fact just that, a ordinary and largely forgotten working class boy. This is why when migrating to Azaad he became a little skeptical whether to become a waiter in Asheerah's shack, the Shirin Leila, he had not yet come to terms with the town folk and its life style as the village provided its own resource unlike Raad. Over time Giovanni quickly began settling in, becoming a fine waiter and later began to eventually make a decent salary for a low class boy of his age. At the peak of his career he was along the path of making an average wage of 60,000C (Chazri) yearly. This however had been flipped on its head after the rebellion where he was forced to return back to his village. He is now much like in his childhood, a working class boy.
