The Reaper

Nerull

The original god of death, the Reaper was known to actively intervene in the world of the living, causing famine and disease in order to expand their kingdom beyond the veil. After causing a particularly deadly plague around 360 BI, The Firelord led a war against the Reaper, removed them from power as Lord of Death, and imprisoned them in the Abyss.

Tenets of Faith

Exact beliefs vary, but cultists of the Reaper tend to believe that death is the natural state for all souls. They hold that life only exists as a mechanism to produce souls to populate the Land of the Dead, and thus advocate for killing any living thing that is no longer useful for that purpose.

All cults of the reaper believe that their god is the rightful ruler of the Land of the Dead and revile the Raven Queen as a usurper. They will seize any opportunity to free their imprisoned god and overthrow her.

Divine Goals & Aspirations

The Reaper was stripped of his title as Lord of the Dead and banished to the Abyss over a millennium ago. They would love nothing more than to escape and reclaim the throne of death.

As one of the Seven Original Spirits, the Reaper's true form is nebulous and indescribable, but they often appeared as a tall, skeletal, black-robed figure with a scythe.

Gender Identity

As one of the Seven Original Spirits, the Firelord has no gender, and in fact predates the concept. Most scholars agree that the most correct pronoun for such a being is actually "it," but most of the common people use "he/him." "They/them" is also commonly used.
