The Djinn Tribes
The Djinn are a warrior race of nomadic tribes that live in the Biting Desert. They are fierce hand-to-hand warriors who are large, muscled and very, very angry. They are not native to The Biting Desert but they have made it their own and know of secret oases, caves and other aspects of the land that even the Koterrans aren't aware of. The fiercest of their chiefs ride giant scorpions into battle and they also hunt the scorpions for sport. It is a rite of passage for any Djinn that has aspirations of becoming chief to go seek out and kill a giant scorpion in single combat to prove his worthiness to lead the tribe.
Structure
The Djinn are a collection of tribes with each tribe being led by a chief. All of the chiefs will usually keep to themselves unless an threat arises that proves to great to be handled by a single chief and his tribe. If this happens a council of chiefs is held to determine who will take the mantle of Warlord and lead all of the Djinn people against the great threat. The last known warlord was Warlord Arig Helmsplitter who led the Djinn against the Argans in the 300 Years War.
History
The Djinn can trace their origins back to the Tragic Age in which many barbarian tribes roamed the land, butchering all they pleased. The Djinn were initially from the area now known as the United Confederation of City States but were driven from their home by rival tribes and forced to flee into the harsh Biting Desert. Many died in the harsh climate but over time they learned how to survive the sands and now thrive in them.
