A post apocalyptic world of rediscovery. Inscrutable ancient technologies, indistinguishable from magic lie buried beneath a ruined landscape populated by primitive mutants races and strange beasts.   A hollow world. The ancients, who in their arrogance were responsible for the great cataclysm that destroyed the world, retreated underground. The wealthiest and most privileged built vast networks of megabunkers to hide themselves from the chaos and radiation on the surface. For centuries, 2 parallel evolutions took place, with the insiders ignoring the outsiders and vice versa.   But as above, so below. The once proud global technocracy descended into decadence. History was rewritten to please the whims of cultural fashion, new religions emerged to worship the AI gods of science and tech, and thus the insiders utterly lost the means to create anything new. They coasted along for generations, becoming more ignorant and weak with each passing generation, until they had convinced themselves that there was no outside world.
