Centaurs

Long ago, just when the humans appeared on the material plane, the clan of the Windcatchers settled on the plains of Wildermouth. The island far to the west of Etharis was a big landmass with grassy plateaus and full of wildlife. the Windcatchers learned fast how to control the horses and soon they became the best cavalry of this universe.Known for their finesse and the art of fighting on horseback they were challenged by all races of Etharis, which sent their best riders. but nobody could best the proud and arrogant leader of the Windcatcher tribe, Kentaur Windcatcher, who slashed across the battlefield leaving barely any opponents with their dignity intact.   But so it came, that Hircine, the God of the hunt, challenged Kentaur to a duel of who might slay the most beasts in Celestias Wild Wood and against all odds Kentaur managed to slay one beast more than Hircine could. but this beast was no simple beast but Hircus, son of Hircine. in a rage Hircine cursed Kentaur and his tribe, so that all who follow his bloodline shall never be human again but a abomination forever bound to the horses back. with this curse the race, nowadays known as Centaurs came to be.

Basic Information

Biological Traits

Centaurs have the upper bodies, down to the waist, of muscular humans, displaying all the human variety of skin tones and features. Their ears are slightly pointed, but their faces are wider and squarer than those of elves. Below the waist, they have the bodies of small horses, with a similar range of coloration — from various shades of chestnut or bay to dappled or even zebra-like striped patterns. Most centaurs style their hair and their tails in a similar way. Selesnya centaurs favor long, flowing hair. Gruul centaurs cut their hair in rough, spiky styles.   The upper bodies of centaurs are comparable to human torsos in size, and their lower equine bodies average about 4 feet tall at the withers. Though they are smaller than a human rider mounted on a horse, they fill similar roles as cavalry warriors, messengers, outriders, and scouts.
