Thorden Dragonbane

King of Kol-Embor

In the waning years of the Age of Chaos, a harbinger of doom threatened all of Thruun: the archdragon Quindreyth. This bringer of the end times ravaged the country leaving nothing less than wanton death and destruction in it's path. The fractured human settlements united in their efforts to defeat this ancient evil, but we're no match for the monster.   The rulers of the human lands eventually reached out to their Dwarven neighbors for aid, but were turned away by the reclusive Dwarves.   One young Dwarven smith, Thorden of Kol-Embor, spoke out against the treatment of the people of Thruun, but was shunned by his peers and labeled as a heretic. Thorden left Kol-Embor and forged Ektembor: the sword of Honor, a gleaming longsword forged from mithral, and set off to face Quindrayth.   The spectacular duel lasted days. It seemed the two were both unstoppable. Though Quindrayth was clearly superior in strength, Thorden fought with an indomitable will and ferocity. Just when all seemed lost, Thoorden struck the final blow, felling the mighty beast and shattering his weapon.   After the battle, the people all across Thruun hailed Thorden as a hero. The king of Kol-Embor formally apologized and relinquished the crown, and Thorden received the honorary title Dragonbane. As king of the Dwarves, he forged a strong alliance with the kingdoms of men, reforged Ektembor and nine other swords for the other Kings of Thruun that would come to be known as the Teeth of the Dragon, and brought about the Age of the Mountain.   Upon Thorden's death, he was made the saint of law and lordship by Korrentyn.
