Mur Prophet, Dirt Mender

Grand Prophet of the Herd

The populace of the northern continent of Yaldica resemble upright beasts: goats, bulls, and sheep. They lived modest nomadic lives before giants migrated northward, due to southern conflicts. There was a brief unease between the beastmen and the giantkin. It wasn't soon after the giantkin regrouped from their lost conquests and chose another goal. The plains of the north could provide bountiful harvests and there were cattle everywhere. The beastmen lived as farm animals, toiling away in fields under the punishing hand of their masters. The UngoKonig Empire survived for centuries and even reconquered lands lost by their forefathers before their founding. Things changed, once the giants heard what sounded like a thud of a drum. An uneasy hum filled the air afterward. When he was born there were no calmed storms, no volcanic eruptions, no signs of destiny manifesting. He fell into a pile of mud in the birthing pits, like so many others. Carried away by a doe fey as she was ordered to do. Grew up not knowing his parents only performing laborious tasks for the masters that treated them all like property. Was never told about his heritage, what his people were and what they accomplished. Legends which they used to pass down around campfires in the great plains have long been forgotten. There was just the present and a future that would not change. Once his horns came in and the beard tuft grew thicker he began to notice something different. The elements of nature around him seemed to come a light with a feint glittering color. Those he came to know even wondered how he changed his eye colors, but only in soft whispers. He began to have vivid dreams, a time before the UngoKonig Empire arrived. Rolling green hills giving way to valleys of ebexians, satyrs, and minotaurs grazing in the vast fields. Soon figures started telling him stories where he recalled while awake and told them in small groups. He spoke the words of their ancestors, which filled them all with a longing pride. Telling them of their bloodlines, leaders and heroes that vanquished many before the giants came. They soon realized that there were many of them and fewer overlords as the Empire came into another conflict. Dirt predicted a great drum would sound. This would start off a new era for the beastmen who were treated badly, whose culture was nearly lost forever. Things changed, once the beastmen heard the foretold thud of a drum. An anticipating hum filled the air.
