Bridge Ford Demonic Uprising

BridgeFord has been under a terrified cloud, within the city bodies have been found militated in the streets or abandoned buildings. Curfews put in place have done very little to deter these evil activities. The characters have been investigating these series of events for weeks now. After interrupting a cultist ritual, boldly happening within a building in the Northern District, they obtained a name of the owner of the private theater. People placed into custody and questioned. A demon worshipping cult confirmed to have infiltrated the city and evil deeds are meant to corrupt the districts. Another name found, a prestigious military officer, Donadus Lefue. He has a permanent living quarter within the Citadel. At this   Searching his room for clues is when shouting can be heard throughout the halls. Soldiers clamoring to reach defensive positions within the barracks. At this realization, the characters are informed that there are reports of multiple attacks within the city. A place the characters have grown to known beset by inhuman entities. They are told that the general was seen leaving with a private party, going towards the eastern gate.   At this points the players are given the options to either help any of the attacked sectors or pursue the traitor general Donadus Lefue. They are unsure of the ramifications choosing 1 over the other and it is not a scenario where the players will defend a spot and move on to the next. They are planting their feet and holding out through the night. Unless they attempt to catch Donadus before he escapes into the night with his new employer.   The idea is to challenge the players and how they view their characters. Are they invested in the stories and npcs they've met or are they just following orders? Before introducing the chapter I made sure to give every player at least 2 npcs that their characters enjoy talking to be it old friends or new chums. Then throw the city in a situation where the city could be very different after. People slain, hangouts burned down, or new mandates could change the way that they feel about the city, but if they are to pick a spot to defend then at least something will look familiar afterwards. A monument to old times.
