Aesir
Overview
A warlike pantheon of gods worshiped by hardy people in frozen lands. In the southern hemisphere, Brightvale is the only major hub of worship of the Aesir.
Though their past myths and past history can be described as bloodthirsty, recent worship has centered more around their civil and social aspects, with some exceptions. Despite this turn toward the more civilized, all clerics of the Aesir have access to the War domain.
Beliefs and Duties
Many myths resembling those of Earth's own Norse mythology remain in some form or other. It is taught that the stories describe events from before the Breaking of Yggdrasil. Of particular note, the prophecies of Ragnarok are rarely taught in detail as they were proven false.
Vigilance
The Aesir charge their priests and worshippers to remain vigilant against the arrival of Surtr, the Jotun, and any of Loki's monstrous children that may have followed them through the Void.
Hospitality
Hospitality and charity are extremely important to adherents of the Aesir. Like Therendal itself welcomed the people and their gods, so too should the Nyver welcome and aid the poor, the lost, and the destitute.
Unity
The Breaking of Yggdrasil had an intense impact on the Nyver, and mutual aid has become a cornerstone of their religious duties. In practice, this has been limited to kingdoms at the largest, and differing Nyver nation-states war against one another as much as anyone else. As the groups become smaller, the degree of unity increases.

The churches of the Aesir acknowledge that Therendal is not their original world. This is the official story of how and why they arrived there.
