There's Always a City

There are secrets to every world - deities who shaped the world and then left; deities whose own miracles were faked; heroes whose feats were exaggerated, or, in some cases, were part of a much larger scheme of evil. Those who protect these secrets believe that if this information were to make its way into the wider world, the natural order of the multiverse would be knocked out of balance.   There are those who make it their jobs to gather these stories, these whole truths in a world of halves, to collect them for a time in the future when the world is ready. Of course, not every one of this ancient, unnamed order believes that these secrets should be kept from the world, and would do everything in their power to force the world away from their stories.   The two factions are in a constant struggle - those who believe in the power of the truth at the right time, those who believe in the truth at any time. Those who are given the gifts and inducted into the order must eventually choose an allegiance.
