Ashblade

A young Lucian Fellwar sits at dinner with his father, when they hear a knock at the door. The Lucian's father, Eliot, grabs a knife and approaches the door and opens it. Two military officers stand at his door with stoic looks on their faces. They explain that a royal guard killed a young woman who was attempting to kill the newborn Prince Godfrey. They believe that the woman was his wife. the two officers step aside to reveal four soldiers carrying a coffin. Eliot opens it and gasps. He was so struck with sadness and hatred, he couldnt breathe. He collapsed on the ground, gasping for air. The officers that werent carrying the coffin dropped down next to him trying to help him breathe, but it was no use. He was gone. They looked up and and saw an eight-year-old boy staring down at the scene, with pain in his eyes. The officers took him and his father's body back to the station with them. Not a word was spoken on the way. That night, he slept overnight at the station. Only he didnt sleep. He screamed and screamed in anger, he knocked things over, breaking things, and he felt his body heating up. He kept raging around the station until his body had gotten so hot he was screaming in pain instead of anger. A few moments later, the station was in flames. He had no idea what he'd done, only that he'd done it. He grabbed a metal pipe and smashed the window. He jumped through, cutting himself on the broken glass, and ran into the forest. He kept running and running until he came across a stone tower with a set of stairs leading up to the staircase. He approached the staircase but as he took the first step, he felt an impact on his back, and he couldn't move his legs. They were frozen. As he stood motionless on the stairs a beautiful woman walked around him and crouched down to look at him. She asked who he was and explained everything that happened since the officers arrived. The woman welcomed him in took him as her apprentice. She told him her name, Solina, and explained that he was a sorcerer and he had set the police station ablaze with magic. She taught him everything he knew, but he wanted more. He wanted to be the most powerful mage in the whole world. She foresaw he would cause great evil, so that night, she tried to kill him, but he had seen this coming. She had taught him the art of divination, so he had animated a suit of armor to protect him wherever he went. He called the suit Gearsengard. When she invaded his room the, Gearsengard alerted Lucian telepathically and he woke up. He took a dagger from his pillow and stabbed her seventeen times in the chest. He took the dagger cast a spell on it. The blood formed a blade and solidified into black stone. He took her body outside and set it on fire along with her tower, using the very spell he accidentally used to destroy the police station. He covered the stone blade in her ashes and cast a spell that would hold them there for the rest of eternity

Mechanics & Inner Workings

The blood of Solina is what gives the Ashblade it's magical properties, but the dark history of it is what makes it work the way it does. Whenever someone kills a loved one, they gain full control of the sword. With each victim, it becomes stronger, it becomes more magical, and it becomes more evil. Some who know the true story behind the Ashblade say that the spirit of Solina is in the blade, waiting for someone to take the sword so she can corrupt them and convince them to kill Lucian as revenge.

Manufacturing process

You must cast Corpseforger on the items you've collected and you must see what you wish to create in your mind, down to every last tiny little detail. It requires extreme focus and a calm mind.

History

This blade was made from the blood and ashes of Lucian Fellwars mentor, and a simple stone dagger made from a brick of a tower. The only owner of this blade in all of history is Lucian Fellwar himself, and nobody else has yet to touch the dagger other than himself and those who buried him.

Significance

The Ashblade is a symbol of death and evil, used in horror stories across Thelador. Many bards embelish in stories and songs saying the've seen it or even held it, but the only people who have ever really seen it are Gearsengard, Solina, and Lucian. Lucian is also the only person who has ever held the blade. He was supposedly buried with it. It still lies in his tomb to this very day, waiting for it's next master.
