Session 3

General Summary

The session began when Wyndi finished her first perusal of the mysterious book, and discovered it was actually a journal of sorts. It contained a handful of spells that she couldn't quite manage to work out, as well as an entry that caught her eye. This entry was difficult to read, but the gist that Wyndi could tell was that the writer was worried about a niece, as there were reports of children going missing in Woodhurst, as well as mentions of violence...?   This lead Kallo to react, as his hometown was mentioned by name. The party ultimately decided to depart immediately, and after a short breakfast, left to find horses in order to expedite their journey. They discovered a stable master, and successfully bartered with him in order to receive 3 riding horses.   As they traveled towards Woodhurst, they passed a rather curious halfling smoking blackgrass in a pipe, and a rather rude man who didn't seem to have caught any fish. This man reminded Leon of how harsh of a town Doveport can be, and the party started discussing what they would do when they arrived.   Soon, the sun began to set, and the party made camp. Late into the night, the party fought and destroyed the leader of a group of bandits that were seeking a camp of their own. This spectacular display of violence and werewolfiness lead the rest of the bandits to surrender peacefully, and give up their belongings too. However during the fight, Kallo thoughtlessly tossed a torch into a bush, so with the help of Wyndi and his trusty pot, Kallo had to put it back out. Afterwards, Kallo dug through the pile that he aquired, and found a magical, yet blank, book, a knife with a name engraved on it, and a magical sword that glows when unsheathed.   Early the next morning, Leon and Kallo decided to go swimming in the ocean in a competition to see who could catch the biggest fish. As a result, Kallo caught the biggest fish and Leon caught the most, but that wasn't enough for Leon and he retreated to sulk, regardless.   During all of this, Wyndi explored the blank book for a bit, and also cooked the fish that they boys brought to the surface.   Later, Kallo went foraging for herbs in the ocean, and discovered more than he was bargaining for— a merfolk, who helped him collect some Elemental Water for enchanted potions.   The session ended with more spirited party banter, as well as Leon remembering the card that he found on the bandit leader. The card was an old divination card who bore the resemblance of its holder...
