Centaurs

One of the less common intelligent races, the Centaurs ran free for most of the Age of Tyranny, as subjugation of them proved rather difficult. They tended to live in the wilder areas of Wresnet and generally kept to themselves. Those that found themselves part of civilized society were the exceptions and generally ended up as beasts of labor. Some unlucky ones found themselves as food, as Centaur meat went in and out of vogue with the aristocracy.
The Age of Smoke has been somewhat more difficult. The harvesting of natural resources and the decreased reliance on magic to maintain the ecosystem has caused the wildlands to shrink and become less able to support the Centaurs. They have found themselves needing to adapt to new environments, including joining the fringes of society. This has caused a rift to develop within the Centaurs between the Wild Centaurs and the Society Centaurs.

Genetics and Reproduction

While Centaurs are capable of reproducing with each other, they can also create viable offspring with both Humans and horses. The offspring will always be Centaurs.
