History

Dwarves are created by the divines from world-maggots that have developed vaguely humanoid form. The divines created dwarves and bless them with talents of crafts so they can aid their effort to fight their rival divines (that also created their own craftsmen from world-maggot). Later after the divines are united, the dwarves was used to craft weapons and armor that was used by light elves and other divine servants to fight the giants and trolls. As payment from the divines for all their help, dwarves received riches so abundant that even if all of dwarves spent them on luxurious party every single day for thousands of years, it will not run out. This riches is the very reason which led the dwarves to be lazy and secluded.

In the midst of troll-elf war, a dark elf named Orlan and his light elf wife Lyf asked permission to live on the surface of Nidavellir. Although reluctantly, the dwarven king give them the permission in exchange of their loyalty. Years after, a dragon came and wreaked havoc to Nidavellir. Orlan, Lyf, and their children were tasked to defeat the dragon as proof of their loyalty. The dwarves dispatched elite warriors to aid Orlan and Lyf in their quest. After they slay the dragon, Orlan, bathed with dragon blood, realize that dragon blood can suppress his maddening mana craving. With hope, he drank the dragon's blood and transformed into the first black elf. Their heroic deed was celebrated by the dwarven king, and they earned respect as heroes. Soon, the news of their heroic deed and a way to stop mana craving find its way to the dark elves and hundreds of dark elves pledge loyalty to dwarven king and turn themselves into black elves.

After age of divine intervention ended, the dwarves built their kingdom. They built their impressive underground tunnels. There they met rat-like, dog-like kobolds by in the cavern near surface. At first, the kobolds were hostile, but after some centuries, they start to reconcile with one another. The kobolds started to work for the dwarves. Soon their relation would grow from worker-employer to inseparable friendship.

Interspecies Relations and Assumptions

As the very core of Nidavellir, they earned respect from all race in Nidavellir. Black elves, dark elves, and kobolds would devote themselves for the dwarves. Minotaurs and centaurs are always feel indebted and grateful because the dwarves accepted them when the light elves ostracize them. The harpies also grateful the dwarves as they help them to become more civilized. The satyrs have always lived peacefully with the dwarves for time immemorial.
