Episode L031: A Joint Quest Pt. 1

General Summary

Gimblestone

Middleday, the 8th day of Frost, 4078

Hasdraek regales the gathering at the The Whetstone Inn and Tavern with his exploits in Malanroot Tower when Vonig Kerleroux introduces Hasdraek to Gabe Myvol Corna.
Gabe tells Hasdraek about his travels when Briaca Brekillien tells them that she has had visions of a black and purple form in another dimension calling out for help and asking for sheep meat. Gabe lights up and tells them that he knows of this too, and that they should go and try to help the creature.
Hasdraek agrees to help and the three of them, along with Tella Quelfeter - who will handle the sheep - prepare to go.
Briaca tells Hasdraek that in order to save this creature, they must return to Malanroot Tower and find an artifact called the Blackstone which they must place in the summoning circle at the top of the tower to open a portal to the Dark Realm or End World, where the creature is being kept.
The party prepares for the trip.

Ringday, the 12th day of Frost, 4078

The party is ready, Hasdraek has purchased eight sheep from Aofred LeMee. They set off for Malanroot Tower.

Malanroot Tower

Middleday, the 13th day of Frost, 4078

The party arrives at Malanroot Tower and must fight the winged guardians posted outside. Then they wend their way downward until they reach the balcony that overlooks the dragon Zorrosolasthoosoch treasure hoard. Gabe transforms into a bat and descend to investigate (Hasdraek has no memory of this place). Then Hasdraek descends by rope, bent on looting. He and Gabe consume the potion Briaca has given them and they begin looking for the Blackstone.
Then the voice of the dragon speaks out and Hasdraek is swept away by the idea of aiding him. Gabe, however, has maintained his composure and tries to convince Hasdraek to ignore that voice. Hasdraek won’t hear any of it, and he hog ties Gabe so that he won’t try to interfere with the looting. Gabe prevails upon him, though, and sanity returns. They find the Blackstone and return to the waiting party - Hasdraek very much the richer.
They return to the landing of the tower and begin their way to the summoning circle, spending the night in an alcove along the stairway up.
