Episode L026: First Days in the Tower

Malanroot Tower
Middleday, the 28th day of Deep Woe, 4078 After defeating several of the Red Knights, Hasdraek destroyers the remaining two tableaux and pushes onward to the staircase at the end of the hall. There he begins to climb. And climb. The stairs seem to go on unendingly, with nary a turn or fork. Finally a fork is reached, and here Hasdraek calls out the name Iphigenia Amitee in the hope that she will help. Suddenly, that direction he must travel is revealed to him and he carries on. Hasdraek spends the night on the steps after finding several long dead bodies lying about of adventurers who had tried and failed to ascend the tower. Hasdraek spends several days in this staircase.
Ringday, the 2nd day of Frost, 4078 Hasdraek finally reaches an iron bound door with the sigil of the red dragon upon it. He breaks down the door only to find more steps to climb. In this instance, however, he finds himself in an immense chamber with columns at 10 foot intervals, stretching out as far as his vision can see. The chamber seems to shift in illogical and impossible permutations. The steps continue ever onward. Hasdraek begins hearing the sound of hooves in the distance and after a time, he is surrounded by Minotaur Skeletons and battle is joined.
