Thet Hosts

They Once Ruled the Great Eastern Steppe, from the bay of Gold to the Great Eastern Sea, From the Frozen lands of the Chivgat to the Virgin fields of Onalean, the sounds of a hundred thousand riders sent half the known world into a terror, now however, the Thet nation is nothing but a shadow of its former self, and the last of its hosts cling on for dear life to their traditions and culture.

History

Before Nations

Long Ago, on the western coast of the Great Eastern Steppe, it is said that the first horse was born from the womb of a women, along with this horse would be born a boy. This Horse would become the fathers of all others, and this boy would one day become the first Khay Ryder, the greatest of his people and from his blood would be born conquerors.
The Legendary First Khay Ryder, for who the oral tradition of the Thet named Velikiy, is said to have 12 companions, each one would be his greatest Commanders, Advisors and Personel Guard, and would under him command the first 12 They Hosts after his death upon the field of battle against the legendary Nuzun Knight, known simply as the First Knight.
After the death of the Khay Ryder, his 12 companions would gather and elect from his children, a successor to rule over them, establishing the system Vybory Verkhovoy Yazdy, from which the Thet hosts would elect their Khay Ryder from the blood of the first Khay Ryder, and so it was for 1000 years that the blood of the First Khay Ryder ruled the United Thet, until it was in the year 1082BIC, when a coalition of vassal kings and princes from the lands of the Nuzun and Lexan revolted against the rule of the Thet and aced it upon the field of battle.
The United Rebel Army and that of the Thet met upon what is now known as the Field of Burnt Grass, it was here that the Rebel Forces lured the Thet calvary into a trap and burned them into a great blaze, among the raging inferno was the legendary 49th Khay Ryder, and much of his bodyguard. The Commander of the Rear Guard, the only son and presumed heir of the 49th Khay Ryder, the 63rd Nizki Ryder, attempted to rally the forces of his father's host and launch a counter offensive upon the Rebels, only to clash with the armored knights of Onalean, sent to aid the rebels, and found their blades and arrows useless against their armor, and were cut down, crushing the united Thet.

The Millenia of Sorrow

Following the deaths of the 49th Khay Ryder and the 63rd Nizki Ryder, the blood of the 1st Khay Ryder was broken, and the Thet fractured as rebellion and infighting tore apart the empire they spent millennia building, and they were forced back to the mythical birthplace of the first Khay Ryder and his people, but the glory of the Thet had been destroyed forever.
The legendary 12 hosts had dedicated themselves entirely to the fight with the rebels, and were crushed entirely, in their place the lesser hosts were left to pick up the scraps, and by the time their empire had collapsed fully, there were but 6 hosts which remained within the lands of their birth: The Misov, Cher, Glins, Denichia, Kopovets and Dubkiversk. These 6 hosts were nothing more than pale imitations of what the Thet once were and would spend millennia fighting amongst themselves and launching minor raids into the lands around their homeland, hoping for some form of glory to be won, until their eventual conquest of their lands and their subjugation by the Nuzun Kings in 440, but then everything changed in 816.
During the course of the Republican Revolution, the Misov Host would rally the other Hosts into action under the leadership of their Zavoevatel Vladimir Kozlov, who they named the 50th Khay Ryder, and marched to war against the Monarchy of Nuzun, and on August 20th, the Thet rebels alongside the Nuzun Republicans stormed the Nuzun Captial of Hathford, winning the first great victory for their people in millennia. Despite this, the Millenia of sorrow never truly ended.
Under the Leadership of Nuzun President, and ethnic Thet Prokhor Antonov, the Host system was respected, but when he died and Nuzun conservatives took power, they took steps to suppress their culture and destroy the Host system, and when the conservatives were overthrown and the nationalists seized power, the Thet seized their opportunity in the midst of the civil war, and declared themselves independent, destroyed the poultry forces sent to suppress them, and affirmed they were once again free.

Thet Government

The Thet Government is very loosely organized, based around a confederation organized under the control and influence of the Thet Hosts to determine the power and influence of the Khay Ryder and central government. The system remains as an ancient remnant of the old traditions of the Thet People, mixed with the modern system of government partially imposed upon the Thet by the Nuzun Republic.

The Sobranye

The Vybory Verkhovoy Yazdy, or Riding Elections, was once the system by which the Thet elected the Khay Ryder, in which the Hosts would gather and elected from the blood of the 1st Khay Ryder their new ruler, has been reforged into a new, form of confederal parliament from which the Thet Hosts are governed, the Sobranye, or The Gathering.
The Sobranye is a gathering of the 6 Zavoevatels, the leaders or Conquerors of the 6 Ther Hosts, who gather in the informal capital city of the Hosts, Misov, home of the largest and current holders of the Post of the Khay Ryder position, the Misov Host. While this has created some tension with the other Hosts, especially with the fact the 50th Khay Ryder Vladimir Kozlov despite his age having lost no energy and seems ready to live for many years to come, it reamains a key balance in the moder Thet nation.
The Sobranye holds the power to vote in the Vybory Verkhovoy Yazdy, and effectively acts as an advisory council to the Khay Ryder and is often in direct conflict with them to prevent overindulgences by the ruler of the Thet and anything they may desire. Despite this, the Khay Ryder sits upon the Sobranye as the Zavoevatels of their host, often stemming the ability of the Sobranye to hold them back.

The Hosts

The 6 remaining Hosts of the Thet people: The Misov, Cher, Glins, Denichia, Kopovets and Dubkiversk, remain the central key to the survival of Thet tradition and culture in the rapidly changing and evolving world, despite this the hosts have long since begun to advance and embrace the modern world, some more quickly than others.

The Northern Hosts

The Northern 3 Hosts, Misov, Kopovets and Dubkiversk, also known as the Pragmatist or Modern Hosts, are the most technologically advanced hosts of the Thet, having rejected the nomadic lifestyle of their ancestors, have instead built permanent cities in their territory, and begun to launch greater industrialization and modernization in a hope of catching up to its immediate neighbors to better defend the Thet People and land.
The Misov are by far the strongest and most influential of the Northern Hosts, located in the west of the Nation, they control the current capital of Misov and are led by the 50th Khay Ryder Kozlov, along with the only major port in the entire country and the nations 4th largest city of Sutesk. The Misov are not only the most powerful, but the most modern. They have adopted more formal and casual wears of the rest of the world, cars, telegrams, radio and even trains, with Sutesk and Misov connected via the SM Rail Line.
The Dubkiversk are the most northern of the 3 northern hosts, and behind the Misov in terms of modernization, with their main urban center is located just south of the northern border with the Chivgat. The City of Dubkiversk, located atop a large, fortified hill, is connected to the rest of the northern hosts via the Great Highway, a road line connecting the four major cities of the Thet. Besides this Road, the City and Host have modern radio and telegrams, but few cars beyond the elite of the Host.
The Kopovets are by far the poorest and least developed of the northern hosts, located upon the eastern fringe of the hosts, with their main urban center of Kopovet, located on the grand northern highway of the Nuzan which ran from the capital of Hathford deep into the lands of the Chivgat, and despite this major route of travel, the lack of commerce between the Chivhat and Nuzun mean the route under Thet control remains mostly empty and useless, a drain on resources and nothing else. The Kopovet have only now connected themsleves to the Thet Telegram network and Great Highway.

The Southern Hosts

Where the Northern Hosts embrace modernization and the future, the Southern Hosts look to maintain the tradition and ways of the Thet in all things, even at the cost of modernization, earning the Cher, Glins and Denichia the moniker of Conservative or Traditional Hosts, who stand for the survival of the Thet ways, above all else.
The Cher, located to the far south upon the banks of the Rivers Vilev and Unbabaddush, have always been seen as the greatest of the South Hosts, with its position upon these two rivers used to leverage tariffs over the traders of Tetford, bringing great wealth and prestige as they are seen keeping to the old ways of the Thet Hosts, despite the fact the amount they actually extract being minimal and the money acquired in tariff negotiations and official contracts made with the traders that pass through their territory.
The Glins, located in the Southeast of the Hosts Territory, are perhaps the single most isolated of the Hosts, often ranging closer to the Nuzun border then they do further north or west to the other Hosts, meaning they often acting on their own with little to no foresight by the Khay Ryder or the other Hosts. This has also made them the wildest, with countless reports of border clashes with the Nuzun being sent to Misov, and often ending in stalemate after the Glins have raided several border towns, resulting in the regions closest to their lands in the Nuzun State being abandoned by anything not Military.
The Denechia, located in the very center of the Thet Hosta, are by far the poorest and weakest of the Hosts, lacking modern business, tariff deals or the opportunity to riad and pillage neighbors. This has led to a strong sense of us vs them among the Host, with them clinging to their tradition and customs with a fanatical devotion and seeing as any deviation as a danger to the continued survival of their people and history, often resulting in friciton between the host and the Northern Hosts over the issue of modernization.
