The World of Aura

Created by

The world is a place of unending human suffering. The people are forced to work in factories for sixteen hours a day. The beautiful structures of a time past are left to rot as the centuries go by. The masses are forced to live in lead pipes under the ground in crowded sewers.   The government takes children they deem worthy from their families and train them to become mages, the wielders of aura, the force present in the mysterious fourth dimension. Aura can be siphoned through aura stones, which could be turned into rings or other items in order to siphon aura. The most powerful mages can summon aura, but it takes a lifetime of training, because the aura stones work as an amplifier to a person's aura.   One mage lived her life like any other until she felt something strange. She felt something different with the aura dimension. It was an inconsistency with the flow of time. In an explosive fit of pent up rage, pain and fear, her body burned from her scorching aura. She found herself in the aura dimension, her fourth dimensional form was all that was left of her. The sky was black, pocked with stars. She saw the faint outlines of the people around her. She began to float in the air. It was at that time that she saw a gaping hole in the aura dimension She walked through it. She saw the auras of the people shrink, grow, appear and die. After that she saw the library, but it was bustling with people. This library had been walled of the the public for almost five hundred years- she was in the past.   The past was a time of rouge justice and adventure. The world was dotted with beautiful cities and wild frontiers. This place was inhabited with races and cultures that mysteriously disappeared. What happened to this Utopian world?   The names and characters of this world are in reference to Magic the Gathering. The cities are named after planes in the MTG universe. Even the cover is art from Magic.
