The dwarves of Aardenfel have an ancient history that goes back over 3,500 years and includes the founding of the great Delvic Empire that ruled the continent of Aardenfel for nearly 1,500 years. In the twilight of the empire The dwarves dug to deep resulting in the discovery of the Underneath and a vast upwelling of terrors that destroyed the empire.

Biological Traits
Physically dwarves resemble short, hairy humans. Dwarven internal anatomy however is strikingly different from human, elven, and orcish anatomy with the heart located to the right side of the chest and a arterial structure more similar to that of other small folk such as the gnomes or halflings.

Dwarves typically have a first name, a family name and a guild name. The guild name is only used when among other dwarves. A dwarf who betrays his or her guild is stripped of their title leaving them shamed by their own people.
