Guilds and Factions
The Vampire-Human Relations Association
The vital, though often villified, glue holding Sangovy together. Called “Accordians” by those not fond of them, this voluntary guild of like-minded vampires and humans works to ensure that the constant machinations, attacks, and accidents threatening the peace are dissolved cleanly. Without them, war would again come to Sangovy, though it has been so long that many humans have forgotten the horrors of the vampires, and the vampires have grown tired of losing power over time. Accordians are loud, obnoxious, and unwanted, but they are necessary. The Vampire-Human Relations Association is headquartered in Sangovy, but has a diminishing influence inside the city, and especially outside it, as funding and morale drops. These days the Accordians can barely keep up with dousing fires all over the province. Oathkeepers
Oathkeepers are the actual muscle of The Vampire-Human Relations Association. Any time the Association finds an issue, they send an Oather. Becoming an Oather is a difficult task, open to both human and vampire alike. They are tasked with apprehending anyone who dares threaten the peace, whether it be feral vampire, or enraged human. They are also the main law enforcers of the province, handling smaller tasks from time to time. Oathers usually act alone, but small bands or partners arent unheard of. The Flush Council
The administrative human council which loosely governs the Briar and the holdings within. The Flush Council was formed as part of the Accords to ensure human interests in Sangovy, and to act as a check on the vampires. Of all the political forces in Sangovy, the Flush Council acts as one of the strongest anti-vampire influences, but also manages many of the day to day activities of the city and it’s many associated settlements. Trodden Sea Trade Company
The most powerful, and corrupt, mercantile organization in the human kingdoms, Trodden Sea Trade Company has a strong presence in Sangovy. Whether it’s importing prisoners from all over to be added to The Larder, or exporting much of the valuable goods and products out of the Briar, the Trodden Sea Trade Company is there, somehow, always making a profit if a ship enters or leaves harbor. Other smaller trader organizations all pay tribute, and even the pirates give them wide berth.
