Monokori
This conglomerate of mountain temples and Dojos is unique in Yari in that it has never been trodden by Those of The Dark Sea. Both far from the entry paths of the enemy and filled to Monks trained in combat, Monokori was able to stay relatively unscathed, and has become a bastion of Old Yarese culture and life.
It is favorite travel destination for those visiting Yari, or for the weary soldier who wishes to connect to the land of their ancestry. Monks and travelers of religious bent make pilgrimages to the ancient temples.
Monokori is also the main home of The Dojos, secretive Monk strongholds where hundreds upon hundreds of young men and women train in the ancient arts of the Monk under wise old leaders, many of whom predate the Tsunami. In these beautiful, reclusive Dojos, they train their minds and bodies through grueling ritual and extended meditation.
While Monokori exists firmly within the administrative area of Yari, it more than any settlement operates autonomously. The newer Yari government formed in the Konya Reforms of 730 are considered by The Monks to be a fully new government, one that they never consented to joining.
