Bhavana Sahi

Slavery is a staple in Aljann. Nowhere else is this as apparent as it is in Bhavana Sahi. Located at the border between Aljann Proper and the Slave-holds, this city functions as a melting pot between the two cultures.   Bhavana Sahi began as a Aljanni slave prison on the banks of The River Sharo. During the conquests of Ekara, entire armies were subdued and processed here for use all over the river. In time, the settlement grew, and with it the Ekaran population. Eventually the number of enslaved Ekaran greatly outnumbered the Aljanni, and the threat of slave revolts began. In order to prevent the loss of Ekara the King of Aljann at the time decided to allow Bhavana Sahi to be ruled by an Ekaran.   Since then Bhavana Sahi has grown as a prosperous city, though the slave trade continued due to Aljanni pressure. The city gets most of it’s money from human trafficking, which is used mostly for defense, as the lands of Gnollia lie to the close north. Packs of Gnolls hound the region.   The Ekaran rulers of the City are often seen as sellouts by the rest of The Slave Holds. Often they hate the rulers more than the brutal Aljanni, though the region has remained stable.   What has not remained stable, however, is the city’s relationship to the other Aljanni cities, namely Sharremish. A civil was fought when Bhavana Sahi attempted to free itself from Aljann. The war was bloody, and took lives in many pitched battles until the city of Oemm backstabbed it’s sister city of Sharremish and ended the war. There was a short independance movement in the city to break free of Aljanni rule but the Ekara were in no shape to fight the fresh Oemmic army, and re-entered the kingdom.
