Twi'lin
Living Shadows
Found in only in the small town of Towt'mau, the Twi'lin are a mysterious race. The Twi'lin's true appearance is widely unknown as they conceal their appearance with masks and clothing. This paired with a secretive nature and a natural inclination towards pranks and trickery, creates distrust among the other races.
Despite their carefree nature, or perhaps because of it, and the inhospitable climate in which the Twi'lin live, has caused them to view death as a natural part of life, even celebrating their own mortality, believing that you should only fear death if you have not truly lived.

Basic Information
Anatomy
Apart from their humanoid nature the Twi'lin morphology is widely unknown. Their clothing and masks means that no-one has been able to get a clear picture of what they look like. It is gathered that their skin is incredibly dark greys or purples, and that the normal Twi'lin is quite lean. There have been recorded exceptions to these observations. These unknowns have lead to many a wild theory and artist rendition of their full appearance. None of these have ever been confirmed.
Additional Information
Perception and Sensory Capabilities
While earlier theories claimed the Twi'lin had excellent night vision, a cursory glance at the masks they wear will show no method allowing sight as we know it. This has lead to the more likely theory, that the Twi'lin have a 'sight' closer to that of echolocation, relying on sound not sight.
Civilization and Culture
Average Technological Level
One of the more technologically advanced races, the Twi'lin combine magic and mechanical technology to create technological marvels. Their technological level is believed to be the reason the Twi'lin are blue to call Mt Tain'mi, one of the most inhospitable places within the Havens, home.
Common Dress Code
All Twi'lin wear masks, these can vary from a simple blindfold to a full helmet, though it appears a full face mask is the most common.
Culture and Cultural Heritage
Due to the inhospitable Mt Tain'mi being the place they call home, the Twi'lin view of death being a natural part of life, has created many cultural traditions around living life to the fullest.
History
The history of the Twi'lin further back from first contact in 987 AGE is a mystery. The secretive nature of the Twi'lin means that very little information has been offered. This has lead to historians having to rely on records from other races and, theories and conjecture.
The most accepted theory is that the Twi'lin once had a large empire which was far more technologically advanced and wide spread, before it fell to ruins, leaving the ruins and remnants that can be found around Mt Tain'mi. The existence of this empire or civilisation is also believed to be the source of the magic that permeates the mountain.
