Lantern of the Lost
This ornate enameled brass lantern is made to look like a stylized jack-o-lantern.
Lanterns starts with 1d4 charges. Speaking the command word expends 1 charge to light this hooded lantern for up to 6 hours, shedding bright light in a 30-foot radius and dim light for an additional 30 feet. Undead creatures become have a chance to become friendly towards the bearer of this lantern while they are in the lantern’s light as long as no malevolent action is taken.
This lantern's effect lets you convince an undead that you mean it no harm. All undead within range must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw dc 13 or be Charmed by you while within the radius of bright light. If you or one of your companions harms the target, the Spells ends.
While lit, you may expend 2 charges to attempt to turn all undead creatures within the lantern’s light (bright light) into jack-o-lanterns. An undead creature within light range of the lantern must make a Constitution save (DC 13) or be polymorphed into a jack-o-lantern for 1 minute. Transformed creatures retain their stats and are able to communicate if they could communicate before. Attempts to destroy the jack-o-lantern prompts a con save to turn back to their original form. Slain creatures return to their normal form.
Undead may choose not to resist the effect and if they do so, may stay polymorphed until the following dawn.
Every dawn the lantern of lost regains 1d4 charges
