Luri Telani

One of the most well-known members of the Merchant's Guild in Sea Pillar, Luri Telani was once a savvy businesswoman who was the administrator of ships that transported goods between Sea Pillar and Ironhope, though in the last few years she has gone senile and can barely remember where in the world she is. As the third child of the Telani family, she was slated to inherit little of her family's wealth and holdings and spent many years working on the ship crews, learning to sail and how her family's business operated. However, one of Luri's brothers ran away to become an adventurer, and the other died of an illness, so she suddenly became the sole heir. After years of efficiently managing her business and making a consistent profit, she became quite wealthy and married a minor nobleman from The Trinity to produce an heir and continue the bloodline. However, Luri and her husband quickly grew distant from one another, and her son Curitus ended up a foolish and vain man who would rather luxuriate in his family's wealth rather than learn the business skills to sustain it. Luri attempted to drill more discipline into Curitus, but her mind left her before she seemingly made much progress. Now the ships are managed by dockmasters and sea captains trying to pick up the slack left by the absence of Luri's guidance. With the Telani family in its current state, many are wondering how long it will be before opportunistic thieves and swindlers will make their move to claim a share of the family fortune. The Telani estate in Sea Pillar is a well-known location, and Curitus has scaled back the number of house guards to free up more funds for his extravagant lifestyle. Luri herself is known to wander the streets wearing expensive furs and carrying a heavy coin purse, though she is always accompanied by guards and a servant whose job is to make sure she doesn't harm herself in her current state.
