The Flayed One

The Flayed one was once a mortal woman, killed by extreme violence. She was wrapped in barbed wire and the wire was used to tear off her skin, slowly and painfully. The extreme agony, hatred and rage she felt as she died was so great as to warp reality. Religious scholors are divided on whether this Goddess is actually the woman herself, or just her extreme emotions manifest. The Flayed One has no memories of her mortality. She only knows her deep need for revenge against those who do wrong. Followers of The Flayed One are rare, but the ones that do exist are called by their Goddess to find those who have done wong and bring them a slow, painful death. The Flayed One is Lawful Neutral. She believes that those who have done wrong deserve to be brought vengeance. She hates Evil in all forms, but her view of Good and Evil are skewed. Torture and pain are Good, so long as they are used against those who have done something wrong enough to deserve it. She believes that only through pain and suffering can sins be Cleansed. Her followers bring daily worship to The Flayed One through self-harm. This can come in many forms. Common ways are self-flagallation, or cutting themselves to draw small amounts of blood.
