The families settled around the valley and began with agricultural endeavors. As each of the families began to realize the effects of alcohol in unlocking magical potential, a political separation was fostered. The families farmed the resources that their land allowed them to such as Grapes, Rice, Barley, Wheat, Apples, and Potatoes. As the years progressed, different distillation methods were uncovered, and family alliances allowed for trade between the people of the Vale. Foods are occasionally grown as well.   As tension within the world grew due to the separation of the families, and one family thought to organize diplomacy within the region. However, it quickly became apparent that people still wanted bloodshed in order to resolve disputes. To coordinate this in a civilized manner, a colosseum was erected within the main city and ceremonies were put in place. These ceremonies controlled which family gained the ability to control taxes, and manage the state’s military. Additionally, the controlling clan is in charge of resolving disputes, which also bleeds into defining the state’s rules on many social and cultural norms. The colosseum is the only trading area of the city. The colosseum is also a bazaar on the circumference of it.   Two main families controlled the colosseum for the past 3 centuries, but a recent upset in the decadal tournament has left an underdog in charge of managing the region. Their family’s unfamiliarity with managing the power of the region has caused the region’s binds to begin to unwind. Tensions are building as dissent for the current controllers of the colosseum is at an all time high.   Population 800,000
