Ferrum Fireforge (a.k.a. The Cringe)

Born into a family of blacksmiths specializing in weapons and armor, Ferrum was infatuated with the idea of becoming a knight of the Vanguard Fortress. His father was, in fact, a distinguished knight himself and trained young Ferrum in combat. Ferrum believed it was his destiny to become an esteemed knight much like his father. When Ferrum was 35, the Vanguard Fortress was thrown into war with a neighboring faction, known as the Bladians. After several years of conflict, the Bladians made one final push and attacked the Vanguard Fortress directly. Ferrum was just old enough to fight, and because of his early training, was given a sword, shield, and armor, and told to join the battle. The Bladians had been utterly destroyed, while the Vanguard stood victorious. Unfortunately, his father was killed in the siege. Since his father had trained him so early, Ferrum was given his father’s position as a captain in the Vanguardian army, and quickly rose through the ranks due to his prowess in combat, eventually becoming an Honored Knight of the Vanguard Fortress.
Ferrum Fireforge was an honored knight of his home, the mighty Vanguard Fortress. But during an extended peacetime, Ferrum picked up an interest in “comedy.” Very bad comedy, if you could even call it comedy in the first place. Ferrum’s sense of humor was so indubitably cringey, the overall morale of his company of knights dropped by about 60%. Within 2 months he had been exiled from the Fortress, but allowed to keep his armor and weapons. Without any honor left, and on his own, Ferrum took to performing odd jobs suited for him, dealing with anarchists and insurgents and the like. He grew tired of doing this for meager returns and decided to find some grand adventure, some feat of heroics that would restore his name and his honor, and possibly gaining a better sense of humor along the way.

A former Honored Knight, Ferrum was exiled from his fortress. He now seeks to prove his worth and reclaim his title, while also searching for an entity to give his oath.
