The Church of St Ronan [Rona]
Rona is finger of rock bursting out of the sea between Skye and Scotland. It’s a rocky and mossy, glaciated landscape. On the west side of the island is a perfect natural anchorage.
The Church of St Ronan is an oratory, a pilgrimage site for traveling people to pay homage and seek refuge from the harsh elements of the Scottish landscape.
Outside an earth and stone bank surrounds the chapel, with some cross-incised headstones -- The grave of St. Ronan is marked here by a three holed stone.
