Perception

Purpose

The purpose of Whisperers is usually one of two things, both polar opposites. The first is to appease the ancient beings behind the walls of reality, to beat them back, and to generally try to make the world a safer place. The second is for mortal gain, attempts at riches, immortality, or use by cults.

Social Status

Whisperers are not well respected, unless you consider fear respect. They are looked down on as a necessary evil in some parts of the word, or a thing thaht should just be outright banned in others.

Dangers & Hazards

Communion with the occult is extremely hazardous. These magics are not usually able to be used safely, and the risks are high and erratic. One of the most common pitfalls is accidental summoning, which usually leads to the death of the summoner.
