Vitae

The flesh, the soul, and and where it meets hold great power. Vitae is the name for that- bits of flesh, bone, marrow, blood- any organic substance- of a great creature (or Human) that fell from power. Usually resulting from death, but not always- decay can slowly produce Vitae, as can the severance of body parts or the drawing of blood. However, it is still quite rare to find usuable amounts of it outside of wars, or the death of highly powerful individuals.   Without stength, there can be no Vitae.

History & Usage

Everyday use

Vitae is sought after by those under the corruption of Vampirism, as they need it to not go insane. It is also a powerful reagent for use by Alchemists.

Distribution

Trade & Market

There is an underground market for Vitae in The Traitor's Howl (Port City). Unknown to even the Queen, vampires often smuggle it through the docks, to keep themselves sane. One prominent vampire is even a important noble in the Queen's Court.

Storage

Vitae must be stored in sealed bins, as it decays just as quickly as it's holding material, which is often flesh. It is often better to be used immediately in alchemy or consumed by vampires.

Law & Regulation

Vitae is rarely banned, as it is an inevitable product of those inflicted with Madness. However, in some regions it is illegal to sell directly, and must be turned over to the authorities for a nice sum.
