Entry 3: Before the Rise of Exar

I had the displeasure of having an extended conversation with Fasta-Vas, Vas as she said she wished to be called, today. She's arrogant, cocky, brazen, and rude even by Asuran standards. I'm not one for violence, but she made me wish to rake my claws across her to shut her up. The smug look she gives when talking down to someone is made all the more unbearable by just how gods damn big and green her eyes are.   I had encountered her in the library while I was investigating some scrolls in regards to the floods of the old kingdom of Ruza. I didn't see the scrolls or books she had grabbed, but apparently I was blocking her way to a specific volume and she quite blatantly was not standing for it. I believe her exact words were, "Hey Fuzzball, you gonna hog the whole shelf or are you going to let those of us doing important research pass?" I was so dumbstruck by her gall that I merely apologized and moved to the side.   Eventually I spoke up and said, "I'm sorry, but you're not the only one doing research here. I've been studying the kingdom of Ruza for the past three years trying to figure out it's secret." She simply laughed at me! Said it was a waste of time, that the dead there already taught us a lesson, don't play with fire, cults, or large bodies of water!   "Progress is made by looking to the future, not staying trapped in the past!" BAH, burn my tail. I wanted to tear her ears off, the snarky little Rat Shark. I'd argue by saying "what does she know?" But I know not to discredit her academic prowess. I've been informed she was actually able to invent a new form of magic never seen before. Void Magic they call it. I can't compete with that, she's a prodigy. I had to claw my way, in some cases literally, here from my forced exile. She cracked a code many hadn't even known existed.   But I won't let this detour me, I'm so close to cracking the code of the fall of Ruza. There's more to it than anyone knows and I'm determined to figure it out.
