appearance: almost 7 feet tall with broad shoulders and large defined muscles, he has ebony colored skin, green eyes and long dark very red hair, that he keeps in small dreadlocks which he will often braid to keep out of his face. he is covered in blue tattoos that run across the shaved sides of his head, down his neck and across his shoulders, back and chest. each tattoo represents a major event in his life and his many achievements. they are a tradition of his clan, the first one given to celebrate the leaving of boyhood and becoming a man. the ink of these tattoos is made from the sap of the Coeden Hynaf, and when he channels the world tree energy (aka Hud - use welsh pronunciation) they glow.
Weapon of choice: Axes. he uses a plethora of them, throwing axes, hatchets, battle axes and even a two handed great axe. his two favorite battle axe that he has sheathed on his hips, are made of ironwood, and are imbued with world tree energy, making them fire resistant, and they wont decompose or loose their edge.
Chanden , originally named Zaxus, is a pure blooded decedent of the Coeden Eboni clan. One of the lesser noble clans of Byd Y Coed. His family was killed in a coup during the False War. He was smuggled out during the chaos by a servant and taken to the Verndari stationed near by, who happened to be Ilya's parents. They changed his name and placed him in the same village as Ilya. the servant stayed and taught Chanden about his people and his legacy. Chanden became best friends with Ilya and together they attended the Verndari Academy, where he graduated the top of his class and bonded with Aris, an Efir Ardyn and Tadhgán. Aris was later murdered by assassins and Ceirys, a young prodigy rescued by Ilya and his Una Trium, formed a bond with Chanden and Tadhgán.
Notable Fact: Chanden and Tadhgán's second bond with Ceirys, was the first time any Verndari was able to bond a second time. some rumors speculate it is because Ceirys might be Aris' daughter, while other speculate that due to Ceiry's mysterious origins it could be one of her innate abilities to bond with any individual.
