The Zenithians and the Firstcome

Descendents of the crew of Zenith call themselves Zenithians, while the peoples of the first colonization wave call themselves the First-come, as they view themselves as the Horizon’s original settlers.
Among the latter however, many have begun identifying as Zenithians, despite not being blood related to the crew of Zenith. This is most common among those who regard themselves as progressive, and who share the Zenithians’ practical take on the Icons and life in general.
The dichotomy between Zenithians and Firstcome is thus much more than bloodlines. It has become a short-hand for core-beliefs, with most people comfortably sitting between the extremes.

• Firstcome are often traditionalists. Religion, spirituality, mysticism play a huge role for them.

• Zenithians believe in progress, science and rationality. Immensely pragmatic, many see the beliefs of the Firstcome as a relic from the past and are less religious.
