Sintaren

Nestled in the center of the Realms, and home to the Undying Emperor, Sintaren rules above all other Realms. Once a nation dedicated to peace, Sintaren began its transformation with the assassination of the Third King, a ruler who had navigated his peoples’ relations with their war-torn neighbors with grace and wisdom. 
Upon the death of the Third King, his High Archmage, Qultar il Jarao, seized control of the Realm, leading his people on what would become a century long war against not only the other six realms, but the divine forces which sought to feed on Iona's rich energy as well. This war culminated in the kingdom of Sintaren taking on the new name of the Undying Empire after achieving dominion over all of Iona; in the millenia that followed, Sintaren has remained the seat of power, and, having sacrificed his mortality for the sake of his people, the former High Archmage has reigned since as the Undying Emperor.
The people of Sintaren tend to be quiet and unassuming, but fiercely defensive of their traditions, most especially of the goodness and necessity of the Undying Empire. While officially, worship in the Empire is restricted to the Divines which are members of the Imperial Pantheon, there is a sizeable cult in the Empire which positions the Undying Emperor at the head of the Pantheon, either alongside or instead of Iona.
