What is the Reach?

  The Reach is a land which is plagued with tragedy. Many empires have risen and fell, many wars have claimed lives and pestilence has taken many. Jerio was a disease sweeping the Reach, and many lives were taken in its wake. Now, only a third of the former population remains after the Cambrurt Plague Doctor Society managed to cure it. Work is hard to come across, and monsters seem to be the new plague.

What's Happened?

  The world is still magical but has lost a significant amount of magisters and arcanists since the outbreak. Magic usage is now very rare in the land, and adventuring parties consist of sellswords and disenfranchised mercenaries, given a choice to fight or die in the wild. Many trying to make a living in the world are now killed by the lack of food or Scrutatores, the mysterious order enslaving some of the city-states.   Lycanthropy is awfully common in these lands. Many who have mastered their form and turning into others, Warpers, are seen as freaks and are shunned in most areas. The Church of Ruod is gaining more followers than ever - but why? Could it be their study into the Warpers and expulsion of them has given them support? Or the fact that Zealots were the only ones to not perish during the outbreak.   It's been five years since the Jerio Epidemic was ended. The world needs help more than ever. Could you answer the call?
