Eojo Dye

Eojo dye is a pigment used to dye Haejik. Eojo dye is very rare in its pigment form. Because manufacturers keep the way they make it secret, few outside of the communities where eojo is grown and processed know how to make it. It is also regulated in most countries because of its use to create orange Haejik .   The exact process of creating the dye is a secret, but manufacturers make it from the seaweed Eojo  after it has matured and turned yellow. The filter bladder from a mature yellow Eojo frond is the main ingredient used in the manufacture of this pigment. Attempts to create eojo dye with stolen filter bladders have so far failed, so there are is likely other chemicals needed to process it.   A less well-kept secret is that exposure to the filter bladders that it is made from can cause medical complications in the people who make and use it over time.

Significance

This pigment is of extreme importance because it is used to make the rich orange fabric synonymous with royalty in several kingdoms and cultures in Gyerim including Baekhae . However, it has no known uses outside of this.
