Dawnspire University

Dawnspire University is a school of the magical arts in Dawnspire, Beshik. Founded in 829 SE, the University began with a single building and a dozen students. As the school's student body and offerings increased, it expanded into the sprawling campus that currently occupies the center of Dawnspire. The University enrolls approximately 3,000 students. Due to the variations in the length of each course of study, this number fluctuates from year to year.

Campus

The University is a closed campus, walled off from the rest of the city. Strong protective magics guard the walls and gates to ensure that the wayward spell casting of students does not cause harm to the general population.
Each school of magic has its own buildings for teaching and research purposes, centered around cloistered courtyards. The older schools have more elaborate facilities, while War Magic is housed a single, repurposed building that once belonged to the school of Divination.
Students are housed on the east side of campus, in homes purchased from the city as the University expanded. Faculty live in off-campus housing paid for by the University.

Schools of Magic

Dawnspire University offers courses of study in ten schools of magic. Six have been offered from the University's founding, while the remaining four were added over time. The School of War Magic is the most recent addition, started by renowned war wizard and former student Meryem Özdemir Yilmaz. The schools of Abjuration and Enchantment have the highest enrollments, while Necromancy and War Magic are the smallest schools.
