Torch Tower
A guiding light
Built from the remains of a huge windmill on a mountain top, Torch Tower is used to guide people to the protection of Torch Town.
Purpose / Function
Torch Tower serves two purposes: as a solar power array and a guiding light / landmark to travelers of the area.
Alterations
Originally, Torch Tower was an immense metal windmill. Over time, it degraded and its blades fell off, but the tower still stood.
The first alteration was the installation of large solar energy panels on the top of the tower. The builders were able to modify the existing internals of the tower to suit their needs. Soon, the tower was providing Torch Town with lots of much-needed energy.
The shining panels helped many travelers find their way to Torch Town, and assisted Torch Town residents in finding their way back home from hunting and scavenging expeditions. It was so useful during the day, that a giant light was attached to the peak of the tower to assist in the night as well.
In the years since, many structures have been built around the base of Torch Tower: energy reserve batteries, maintenance housing, and even some residences.

Architecture
While originally just dirtied metal, Torch Tower has since been painted in many glorious colors. Every couple years, Torch Town has a celebration of the tower and adds a new coat of paint and a fresh new look.
