The Cult of Hilu

The Cult of Hilu is a contemporary religious organization, but a powerful one nonetheless. Following the approach of the planet deemed Hilu in the year 3023, many felt that their relationship to the strange planet was spiritual. Thinkers, magic users, and astronomers of the time all experienced strange happenings involving the planet. Some claimed that strange voices emanated from the celestial object, loving voices, menacing voices, guiding voices. 
At the same time, the race of Humans began to appear on the planet. Children were found walking through the snow, shaking and without language. Needless to say, the Cult of Hilu became obsessed with Humans, both fearing them and worshipping them. 
The Cult of Hilu possesses a multitude of religious structures throughout the land. Many in the current era flock to Hilu in times of need or fear, as many accept Hilu's existence as a point of fact.

Structure

The Cult of Hilu is a remarkably amorphous organization. Sects of the Cult spring up individually throughout the land and most possess an Astronomer, a leading figure that interrupts the signs of Hilu and conveys messages to others.

Culture

The Cult of Hilu is not an ascetic group, many participate in hedonistic activity. A tantamount belief within the religion is that life is highly fleeting and that our role on the planet is to wait patiently for Hilu's arrival once again, so that we may be taken to live out our days in eternal glory. Therefore, many followers of Hilu do not consider their lives in Oberland meaningful and extend the same philosophy unto the lives of others.

Public Agenda

The Cult of Hilu frequently attempts to incorporate their beliefs into the writs of the various kingdoms. The organization is evangelical and therefore often attempts to press their ideologies onto others through creating their own states, towns, or someday kingdoms.

Assets

The Cult of Hilu does not believe in the worth of material objects and therefore possess few assets. However, over the years they have amassed a notable degree of property throughout the lands. Some of their temples are as large as small fortresses.
