NeoLycanthropy

Arising alongside emergent genetic engineering advances and the extreme body modification movement, NeoLycanthropy is a fringe culture that began in Edge City. Adherents of the movement, known colloquially as "Nollies" (a term once considered tantamount to a slur, but since reclaimed by the group), strive to alter their bodies with physical and genetic modifications to attain animal characteristics. Some of the more common mods, or 'upgrades' as practicing Nollies refer to them, include feline eyes, skin grafted with fur, feathers, or scales, pronounced canine teeth, claws, even horns or antlers.    Nollies tend to be adamant in their use of only organic modifications, eschewing cybernetic implants entirely.    Though not technically illegal, the modification process exists in a bit of a grey area. Authorities within the city are growing increasingly concerned over the practice due to the level of sophistication and overall extensiveness of mods currently visible in community members.
Access & Availability
Due to the level of expertise, wetware, and medical tech required for successful procedures, the practice is rare. Those who perform the procedures are exceedingly private and kept closely guarded by the community for fear of legal action or scrutiny. Those seeking out the lifestyle must first gain the trust of the community before receiving any upgrades.
