Fiend

Fiends are flying eldritch creatures that make their homes in the endless depths of the Fall, often rising to the skies above to aimlessly float or terrorise its denizens. They typically have dark, leathery skin, although other colours and textures have been observed.

Fiends are divided into six categories:
  1. Locust
  2. Locust-class fiends are very small; any fiend under the size of a clenched fist is considered a locust. Locusts tend to be quite harmless on their own, but can pose a significant threat when part of an agitated swarm.
  3. Cherub
  4. Cherub-class fiends are larger than a clenched fist but no bigger than a toddler. Most cherubs are found in groups of three, though they can also be found alone or in groups of up to nine. When a cherub-class fiend takes on humanoid features, its classification takes on the suffix "-im", making it a cherubim.
  5. Seraph
  6. Seraph-class fiends can be anywhere between the size of a small child to the mass of a large adult. Typically found in pairs, seraphs can also be seen alone or in groups of up to six. Identically to the cherubs, seraph-class fiends take on the suffix "-im" when found to carry humanoid featuristics, labelling them seraphim.
  7. Nephil
  8. Nephil-class fiends are bigger than the largest human, but no larger than a small airship. Usually found by themselves, although they have been noted to appear in pairs or groups of three. Humanoid nephil-class fiends are known as "nephilim".
  9. Leviathan
  10. Leviathan-class fiends are anywhere between the size of a small airship to the size of a small town. None have ever been found in groups, and they seem to be solitary beasts. Leviathans are rare, elusive, and best left undisturbed.
  11. Behemoth
  12. Incomprehensibly massive, behemoth-class fiends are incredibly rare and barely researched. There are no "small" behemoths; you will know one when you see one.
