The Principles of Existence

The ancient Elven philosopher, Daeren Sors, suggested that there are 5 Principles of Existence:

Time

Motion

Chaos

Order

Zero

In his madness, he set about creating magical manifestations of these principles, and setting these in objects. He succeeded, after going missing for several centuries. He hid the Principles across the Layerverse, in locations known only to him, though it is said he hid clues to their whereabouts on the material plane, before his death. No one knows if they survived The Crash, though Daeren was an immensely powerful mage, and was unlikely to have made things of such importance so frail. Naturally, many people have tried to find the principles over the centuries, but none have found any, or, at least, lived to tell the tale. One of the Principles remains incomplete, and lies locked away in the Daeren Institute, one of the most famous magical colleges in The Reach. Zero has something missing. The greatest mind that ever lived could not fathom a magical manifestation of the absence of existence, and none of those to follow him have even come close.
