The Origins of the Shattered Reach

The Shattered Reach was once one, large continent, but when a huge meteor crashed into the centre of the land mass, the realm shattered. The meteor still exists, and is revered and worshipped like a God in some regions, known as the Fate Star. Some even believe it to be the root of all magic.   The Fate Star landed several hundred years ago, and many believe there was no magic before it.   Little is known about the world before the Crash, and few people survived it. Some believe that there are some remaining Elves who remember the previous world.   The Crash caused a shockwave of energy to refract through the continent. This is what caused the land to break, but the mixture of positive and negative energies separated, sending two waves of energy in opposite directions. Positive to the West, negative to the East. This has had little effect on The Shattered Reach, due to the containment field set up around The Reach (see next paragraph)   This shockwave also created two, equal and opposite entities. One was the epitome of hope, happiness, and righteousness. This one was called The Saviour, and they helped rebuild the world after it was broken. Reforging civilisation, and saving The Shattered Reach from descending into fervent chaos and death, the realm of the Other. The Saviour created a field of containment around The Reach, stopping their sibling leaving, and preventing other evils entering. The other entity, the epitome of hatred, evil, and desolation, three conjoined twins. Knowing that their sibling succeeded in saving the Shattered Reach, they went into hiding. They constantly plot and scheme for the destruction of the Saviour, enabling them to escape The Shattered Reach, and join the evils that swarm the edges of the Eastern Lands. This entity has been called many things, and been many things over the years. Now, they are The Vindicators. In historical lore, they are Dicennion, a celestial term that has no real meaning in other languages, other than to describe this entity.   Many believe that The Saviour still rules the Fate Empire, despite the fact that the Crash happened centuries ago.
