The Inter-Fragmental Trade Organisation

The IFTO are an organisation that operates throughout The Shattered Reach, managing all the buying and selling of goods throughout the continent. The IFTO works, through taxation, regulations, and quotas for production and sale, to keep a precise balance of profit and loss. Their methods can be brutal and often involve a degree of fear mongering, but, form their point of view, the loss of a hand here and the weeping of a child there are worth it to keep The Shattered Reach on the financial knife edge it stands upon. Without the IFTO, The Shattered Reach would likely be even more disjointed and disconnected, with the likes of The Fate Empire shrinking to accommodate the anarchy that would likely ensue. Disparity between classes exists, and, while the IFTO have some role in preserving that, without them, the chaos would give rise to crueller masters than them.
The IFTO operate in every island region of the Shattered Reach, and claim to have visited every major isle, save for Azafax, the end of the Reach.

Structure

The Master of Coin => Tradekeepers and assistants => Whiterobes => Other Agents The Master of Coin is the head of the IFTO as a whole, giving advice to the Tradekeepers of each island region, and having ultimate control over any disputes. The Master has the final say in internal matter concerning the IFTO, and represents the organisation as a whole. They also have the power to employ and fire Tradekeepers as they see fit. The Master of Coin is a title given to the Tradekeeper of the most prosperous island region in the Reach, which is typically The Fate Empire. If one island region overtakes another, but the overtaking is not guaranteed to last, the original Master may keep their title until they are convincingly surpassed by another island region and Tradekeeper.
