Jason Tethlonis
A notable figure among Raahomon's descendants, known for his remarkable impact on the world despite his challenging upbringing. Born into poverty in Paris, France, in 1826 he tragically became an orphan at the age of ten following the death of his mother during a cholera outbreak. Determined to help others, Jason joined a local Catholic mission and pursued a path to becoming a priest.
Unbeknownst to Jason, his estranged father, Raahomon, secretly observed his son's actions from the shadows. On the day of Jason's ordination, Raahomon revealed his true identity and slaughtered the clergy present. Though spared, Jason continued to follow his righteous path, establishing an independent mission and church in New York City in 1904. His mission aimed to provide assistance, shelter, and spiritual guidance to immigrants in need.
Jason's discovery of his demonic origins led him to extensively research Raahomon and his other offspring. He built a global network of holy spies to track and document them, capturing the attention of the Benefactors, a group with a similar purpose. Despite initial skepticism, Jason eventually formed an alliance with the Benefactors, becoming their primary source of information regarding Raahomon's descendants.
In 1954, Jason learned of a rogue Benefactor named Derick Cason who targeted and assassinated some of Raahomon's offspring. Although tainted by their demonic lineage, not all of Raahomon's children were inherently evil, and the actions of Derick Cason troubled Jason deeply. The Benefactors ultimately apprehended Derick and exiled him, but the trust between Jason and the Benefactors was permanently strained.
Following Raahomon's death in 2006, Jason's network discovered a summoning that called upon the remaining descendants to compete for control of Raahomon's vast financial empire. Suspicious of the Benefactors, Jason summoned them to a meeting in New York. There, he encountered Casey, Vlad, and Zen, providing them with crucial information about Raahomon's remaining children.
During a private conversation with Casey, Jason discovered that Casey believed himself to be possessed by Memoc, an ancient demon and Jason's own grandfather. Jason, despite his initial reservations, shared wisdom with Casey, emphasizing the power of personal choice in determining one's path.
Tragically, their meeting was interrupted by a violent attack from Hugo Tethlonis, resulting in Jason sacrificing his life to protect Casey. Although gone, Jason's words left a profound impact on Casey, who continued to fight for justice and good using the strength of Jason's words and breif teachings.
The Benfactors eventually rebuilt Jason's mission brick by brick in order to ensure his legacy carried forward.
