The Saturn Initiative

In 2025, the world changed.   Monsters rose from the sea, devils straight from Hades. But we didn't pray to gods to stop them. We built new gods of steel and diesel and we gave the monsters something their own size to pick on. We fought hard against humanity's greatest existential threat, built bigger and better Titans to stand strong against the monsters. Eventually, all our projects culminated in one powerful organization: the Saturn Initiative.   For almost 30 years, our Titans held the line against extinction. But in the mid-2050s, the monsters started to get stronger, and the losses started to stack up. By 2060, the Initiative's funding had been sliced to ribbons and most of its fleet decommissioned. The leaders of the world turned to a dangerous new strategy against the rampaging inter-dimensional monsters... A nuclear strategy.   But the bombs did little but usher in even faster humanity's new dark age. Earth's climate was shattered, and by 2070, most of the world's major governments have been destroyed or dissolved.   But the Saturn Initiative remains. Weak but alive, it is relegated to the last active Titan-dock, located in central Tibet.   The year is 2073, and humanity is a dying species. But we don't need Hercules to fall from the sky and save us. We made the metal gods. And we'll fight the apocalypse to the last man standing.
